Field in Detail

Still Have Doubts?

Why should I join an FTC team?

Because you will learn while having fun!
FTC develops not only practical robotics skills, but also communication, problem-solving, project management, and leadership.
It’s much more than a robotics competition – it’s a school of life.

Do I need to be a robotics expert to participate?

Not at all! FTC is open to all levels.
Whether you are a beginner or already passionate about tech, everyone finds their place.
We learn together, we grow together, we win together.

How much time does it take?

That depends on the team, but on average you should expect a few hours per week for meetings, testing, and preparations.
It’s a real commitment – but also real fun if you are passionate about it.

Can I participate even if my school doesn’t offer FTC?

Yes! If your school doesn’t offer FTC yet, you can create an independent team – with friends, through an association, a fablab, or a youth center.
You just need a few motivated teammates and can register.
We will support you in setting up your team.

Is this only for boys?

No – FTC is open to everyone, regardless of gender.
The goal is specifically to break stereotypes in STEM fields.
Girls, boys, non-binary people – everyone has a place in an FTC team.

Many FTC teams are mixed, and some are even 100% female.
Every year, the program highlights talented young women who become role models in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

What if I’m not interested in coding?

No problem! An FTC team also needs designers, strategists, speakers, organizers, or even content creators for social media.
Everyone can contribute according to their talents.

Is FTC recognized?

Yes! Participating in FTC is highly valued in school and university applications.
It demonstrates initiative, teamwork, and involvement in an ambitious technology project.
